We endeavour to answer some questions you may have ahead of hosting your Unscripted AMA session.
If you have more questions, don’t hesitate to reach us at hello@unscriptedhq.com.
Wait…how do I prepare for my Unscripted AMA session?
The only thing you need to do to prepare for your Unscripted AMA session is to be present. No distraction. Just be fully present. That’s all.
You don’t need to do any research ahead of your call. Most of the questions are based on your lived experiences and expertise.
Just listen to the questions, be generous in how you answer them, provide non-obvious feedback, share your story, be 100% honest, authentic, and kind throughout.
The ultimate metric is that it’s fun for you and useful for them.
What if I am asked a question I don’t have an answer to?
That’s bound to happen someday. All you have to do is be honest about it. Saying “I don’t know” is a good place to start.
You can take it a step further by either sharing how you may go about getting an answer if you were in their position, or you can refer them to where they may find something useful.
How do I decide on a price for my Unscripted AMA session?
There are two paths here. You may start by offering the minimum price of $100 (or its equivalent in your local currency) for each slot. The more interest you get, the more you can increase the price for the next AMA session you host.
Or you can set the price based on how much an hour of your time is currently worth. And spread this over the number of seats you’ve made available.
Or you can increase your price a lot, which attracts fewer people to your session. This helps you dish out more exclusive insights with those that show up.
It’s important to keep in mind who your intended audience is and how much is the right balance for the value they’ll get.
Our promise to those who sign up for your session is that the value they’ll get from joining your Unscripted session is worth a lot more than they’ve paid. Help us fulfill that promise.
For how long should I set my Unscripted AMA session for? What’s the right duration for each call?
That depends solely on your schedule. We recommend you choose one of these options: 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes, and 90 minutes.
Choose a duration that won’t let you feel rushed. It’s more enjoyable for everyone when you are relaxed and ‘down-to-earth’.
If you plan to have more than 30 people on your call, you may want to consider hosting it for either 45 minutes or 60 minutes. If you want to leave the number uncapped, which we sometimes recommend, the 90-minute session is better.
How many spaces should I make available? How many people should be let into the call?
For your first Unscripted AMA session, we recommend you aim to have at least 10 people join the AMA call, and you can make the session 30 minutes long.
If you are comfortable with having more people, you can make 30 slots available. And you can choose to leave the number of slots uncapped.
We value that you can be authentic with those who join your call, and will love to avoid a situation where it looks like you are talking to a faceless crowd.
What if more people sign up than the slots I’ve made available?
That’s inevitable. Everyone that signs up after the slots are filled will be added to a waitlist. Everyone on that waitlist will be informed of when next you host an Unscripted AMA session. Sounds good?
Can I create discount codes for a group special to me?
Yes. Just tell us what codes you want and how much discount you want to give and we’ll make it happen.
You can decide on how many people can use the discount code, or if the discount is for a particular price or percentage.
We are here to make the process seamless for you, so just tell us what you prefer. And we’ll do that for you.
I’ve filled the form to confirm when I’ll host my Unscripted AMA. What’s next?
We’ll create the necessary landing pages to handle bookings for your session. Once we do, we’ll share a link and an image you can share with you, so you can make an announcement.
Once this is done, you don’t need to do anything else, apart from showing up when it’s time. We’ll handle the rest.
How does payments work?
By default, all Unscripted hosts receive 80% of proceeds from their AMA session, while 10% goes to the cause/charity of their choosing, and UnscriptedHQ gets the remaining 10%.
However, hosts can decide to increase the percentage allocated to the charity or cause they support from 10% to either 50% or 100% of proceeds from their Unscripted AMA session. All receiving parties are responsible for the transfer fees.
I just hosted an Unscripted session and I loved it? Can I host another one, and when?
Yes! You can host another session anytime. Just find the dates and times that work for you, like you did for the first one.
One thing we also recommend is to plan out the year and map out all the times you want to host an Ask-Me-Anything session. Share the dates with us, and we’ll take care of the rest.
